Quick guide to use Additio

Everything you need to know to start using Additio App successfully.

When you open the application for the first time, you see a red screen with a quote about education and its author. This feature is only visible in the app version for smartphones or tablets, but if so desired, in Settings you can choose if you want to keep this or if you prefer the Today view when you open the app, as in the web version.

From the very first time you access the application, in the upper left side of the screen there is a square button with 9 dots, this is he app’s main menu.

When you access the drop-down menu you'll find several options. These options are:

- In Today you can see the academic sessions of the day sorted according to the schedule. Next to each group-class there is a three-people icon that identifies groups and works as a shortcut to each group.

At the bottom of the window,  Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow buttons in order to check the schedule for previous or future days.

Evaluation and groups is where you can create and view all the groups you are going to assess (attendance, grades, etc.). Groups must be created for each level, group and subject.

In the main menu only the first 4 groups will be displayed. If you have more than 4 groups, you have to click on Evaluation and groups to see them all.

When you access a group, you'll find the following options:

  • Students list: this list appears in the left side of the screen, under the group name. There are several options to import students (some of them only available in the website).

When you click on the name of a student you can check the personal details and complete the requested data: personal information, the groups the student belongs to, notes, resources and any upcoming events in the calendar (this allows you to see the events related to each student, as for example a meeting). You can also find the Actions button for further options.

With Actions you can:

    • Create a new event
    • Create a new note
    • Contact with the student
    • Contact with the responsible
    • Generate report (only in the app version, if you use the web version you will have to use the Reports module from the main menu). You will be able to generate individual reports about students' personal data, grades, attendance and notes.
    • Remove student from the group
  • Gradebook columns: this is the central part of the screen and where you'll be able to add columns to assess your students, using the appropriate assessment method in each of them.

  • Assessment and other features' tabs: You'll use the upper tabs to create the columns to assess your students. You can create as many tabs as you need. We strongly suggest you to create a tab per term, so that you can hide the tabs or the columns of the terms you have already finished or those you don’t need to view.

Below, on the right hand side, there is a drop-down button with three horitzontal lines to access:

    • Attendance: you can create a column with a date and assign an icon to each student (attendance -a green circle-, absence -a red circle-, tardiness, justified absence, justified tardiness and expulsion) to keep track of their records. It is possible to modify the icons and their values according to your needs. You can set your icons in Assessment tools > Type of evaluation > Type of evaluation configurator.
    • Notes: you can create notes related to the group and its students.
    • Calendar and events: you can schedule your academic program. An alternative way to create your class program.
    • Resources: you can add or relate additional files to an activity or assessment.

On the upper right corner of the application you will find the three vertical dots menu. Here you can execute the following actions:

  • Edit group: to check and edit the group data you initially filled in and to set up the class schedule and other options related.
  • Sort items: to sort the tabs, the students, the columns and/or the attendance.
  • Import students: you can reuse the students’ list from other groups you have included in the application.
  • Copy group: you can copy the same tabs and columns structure in other groups with Copy Group option.
  • Export data: (only in app) to export in CSV format the following information of the group:
    • Students list with their personal information
    • Group grades list (assessment)
    • Group attendance list
    • Group attendance list (only anomalies)
    • Schedule

In the web version you can also use this action, but in this case you’ll be able to export the data of all the groups at the same time. In order to do so, you have to use the Export Data option that is available in Settings. Also, in the gradebook of a group class you can click on three vertical dots > Share / Copy > Export data, to export the data of the specific group.

  • Contact with… to send an email to a student or to his legal responsible.
  • Show hidden columns: to view the columns that have been hidden because they were no longer necessary.
  • Show hidden tabs: to show the tabs that have been hidden because they were no longer necessary. For example, when the term is over.

Next to the tabs and before the search engine section, there's Others and provides you access to:
