Resources management

Add resources:

On the main menu you will find Resources, represented by a clip icon. This option allows you to add any resource into the app to link it wherever you want to. You can also access your photo gallery, take a picture, record a video or audio in the moment with + button.

The process to import and link the existing files is different according to the device and platform. Here you have several cases:

iOS devices

From any app in your device (i.e. Dropbox) select Open option (on the square icon with an arrow upwards) to choose Additio as the destination app.

In Resources, if you click on the + button you can record a video, an audio or access the photo gallery. If you need to import existing files, follow the steps mentioned above.

Android devices

Files import into the app can be performed from the Resources section or directly from its location.

Click on the + button and you'll find the following options:

If you choose New resource you'll be able to import existing files on your device, email or in another file hosting service app like Dropbox.

Website version

To import files from your computer access Resources on the main menu, and after that, click on the + button.

A drop-down menu will appear with several options to upload the resources: upload resources or link from Google Drive or One Drive.

If you choose the Upload resources option, once you've selected the resources, the files will be uploaded. Green color means the file has been uploaded successfully, blue means it's in process. Press OK to display them in Resources.

NOTE: If files are highlighted in red means they haven't been uploaded successfully. This may be due to an incorrect format, an error has occurred during the upload or you don't have enough storage space.

If you prefer to add a link, fill Name and URLfields and then add the link. Press OK to display them in Resources.

We explain you how to link resources in the app below:

NOTA: The process is the same for all the platforms, no matter the device on the screenshots displayed.

In Resources you'll find the list of all the resources imported. Resources will be listed alphabetically but you can also filter them in the search engine field, at the top of the screen.

You can previsualize the attached files by clicking on the icon or the miniature (according to the type of file) and share it, send it via email, rename it or remove it with the gear button option.

Once the file is saved in Resources you'll be able to link it wherever you want: in your gradebook, in a note, cell, column, student file... The linking process is always the same and it must be done from the destination location, where you want it to link it to.

In Notes there's a clip icon under Save option.

To attach the resources in a column or cell, you have to right click (on the website) or press a few seconds (on the app) and select Resources option, then follow the steps mentioned above. Once it's linked, a clip icon will appear on the cell so that you can easy identify where it is.

NOTE: Android devices usually offer the option to save data and apps in two storage areas: internal memory and external memory.

The usual action is to save all the files in the internal memory, thus it's easy you run out of free space and you're no longer able to install more apps or save files.

To solve this issue, in Settings you'll find the option Save resources in... and you'll be able to choose where you want to save the resources you've linked from your Android device. There are some devices that only work with internal memory, so this option is already selected by default.

What kind of resources can I add?

From Calendar and resources > Resources, you'll be able to add ffiles with the most frequent formats: pdf, Excel, Word, jpg, mp3, mov… these must be created in other apps and then import them to Additio.

Link resources from Google Drive:

Not only any type of resource can be uploaded from your computer or mobile device, but also you can link files from your Google Drive account to any part of the app, as it happens with other resources.

You must click on the + button and in the drop-down menu the option Link from Google Drive will be displayed.

If you click on this option, a new modal window will open with the folders in your Google Drive account, you can sort them by name, last updated, etc.

Once you've selected a file, this file will be displayed in the resources list. If these are Google documents, this will be represented by its corresponding icons to differentiate them from the rest of the documents.

The next image shows the general picture of the resources section, this is how the resources section will look like in any other screen.

NOTE: If you're not logged in your Google account, when you click on Link from Google Drive a modal window will require you to log into Google, to be able to show your Drive folders.

Link resources from Microsoft OneDrive:

Not only any type of resource can be uploaded from your computer or mobile device, but also you can link files from your Microsoft OneDrive account to any part of the app, as it happens with other resources.

You must click on the + button and in the drop-down menu the option Link from One Drive will be displayed.

If you click on this option, a moda window will open with your OneDrive folders.

Once you've selected a file, this will be listed showing the OneDrive icon at the top right hand side corner to differentiate them from the rest of the documents.

NOTE: If you're not logged in your Microsoft account, when you click on Link from One Drive a modal window will require you to log into Microsoft, to be able to show your OneDrive folders.
