How to calculate the attendance percentage
The Calculation of attendance percentage mark type allows you to obtain the percentage of attendance, absence or tardiness of the period of time that you want.
The first step would be within the group create a new column with the Calculation of attendance percentage mark type and then, click on the Configure option that appears just below the selected mark type.
You will see that this mark type allows you to define the start and end date of the period of time to obtain the attendance count and select icons to obtain the percentage.
Next, we will explain a particular case in order to see its possibilities:
Case study attendance percentage
Suppose if a student exceeds a number of absences, justified or not, equal to 40% of class time scheduled, loses the possibility to take the final exam of the term.
This means that students must attend at least 60% of the sessions and if it exceeds the number of absences, loses the right to be assessed.
After obtaining the attendance record for the first term, we create a column with the Calculation of attendance percentage mark type, set the start and end date that we consider (in this case, comprising the 1st Term) and then select the icons we want to refer, in this case, attendance and tardiness and save the changes to see the percentages applied.
